This show will be free foThis show will focus on the rich history of Harp players and the deep connection of the harmonica to the Blues. With the blues harp theme, we are excited to be joined by John Paul Drum. John Paul has been playing harmonica for close to forty years and has shared the stage with such notable blues harp legends as; Sugar Blue, Junior Wells, Lazy Lester, Kim Wilson, John Mayall, James Harman, Lee Oscar, Kansas City’s Patriarch of Blues Harmonica; Provine “Little” Hatch, and the list goes on… This Blues Kitchen Live event will benefit the Center For Recorded Music, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization bringing to life a new world-class cultural center and music education facility in Kansas City. You can catch John in the Blues Kitchen every Saturday morning from 8am to 11am on KKFI 90.1 Kansas City's choice for public affairs, local music, blues, jazz, reggae, rock, hip hop, alternative, Hispanic and world music.
Tickets are available for $15 including Non-Alcoholic Beverages or $45 (Early Bird $35) which includes Food, beverages, and Alcoholic Beverages (21+ for Alcohol, ID required). Food selection for this show will include a selection of Barbecue, Pizza, Hors d'oeuvres, "heavy" appetizers, and fruit (vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options will be available).Please bring cash for tipping bartending staff as credit cards cannot be accepted. UMKC Catering requires us to have a final food order prior to the show, so the Food and Beverage tickets will only be on sale until Wednesday April 3rd. We are sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate any additional food requests once ticket sales are closed.
